R-P.A.G.E., Inc., organizers of the U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO,
continues to involve the community in preparation for this
grand cultural, trade and consumer show scheduled for August
12-13, 2006 at the Fairplex in Pomona. Russell Panopio, President
of R-P.A.G.E., Inc. stressed the importance of meeting with
different communities and organizations to build relationships
that support common goals. “We attend many organizational
functions in an attempt to get to know the community, as well
as have them get to know us, so we may learn how to better
serve each other,” are the words expressed by Mr. Panopio
about their approach towards involving everyone.
The organizers of the U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO 2006 have actively
promoted the event through activities such as the Singing
Star Elimination Rounds. They have also asked for the communities
input through the nominations for the Great Achievers Awards,
as well as acknowledgements through the Salute to Our Troops.
The Ms. U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO 2006 also allows Filipino-Americans
an avenue to participate. All of these components aim to unite
the community.
The
Normandie Casino, a pioneer in the California Gaming Industry
since 1947, will play a role in contributing to this event
by hosting the Press Conference for the U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO
at the Normandie Casino’s Million Dollar Showroom, on
July 22nd. The Normandie Casino’s Million Dollar Showroom
has featured world-renowned entertainers; they have also shown
their support of the Filipino-American community by having
Ms. Nora Aunor, one of the headliners for the U.S.-PHILIPPINE
EXPO 2006, as a featured guest during the U.S.-PHILIPPINES
EXPO 2006 Press Conference.
“Even in 1989 Normandie already actively supported the
community through “Filipino Night,” Ruben Panopio,
Jr., Founder of the U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO, mentioned.

The Normandie Casino’s Show Room was one of the first
casinos to host “Filipino Night,” where Filipino
dignitaries and community leaders were invited. Today, the
Normandie Casino still shows their support of the Filipino-American
community through the U.S.-PHILIPPINES EXPO. The Normandie
Casino, located at 1045 W. Rosecrans Ave. in Gardena, will
exhibit their products and services at the U.S.-PHILIPPINES
EXPO. Don’t forget to visit them at booth numbers 718
and 619. You may also learn about the Normandie Casino and
